- The deal is only available in the McDonald’s mobile app
- Minimum purchase of $2

- Deal is only available after 10:30am (when they stop serving breakfast)
- Deal is only valid at participating locations
From what I’ve seen, most McDonald’s around the Denver-metro area offer this deal. But it’s possible that not every McDonald’s is offering a free double cheeseburger the day after the Rockies hit a double.
Just check their mobile app to make sure the free double cheeseburger deal is available.
Also, it doesn’t matter how many times a double is hit in a game and it doesn’t matter if the Rockies win or lose.

How to Claim Your Free McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger After a Rockies Double
After you have the app installed and an account created, McDonald’s makes it pretty easy to take advantage of the free double cheeseburger deal.
Step 1: Open the McDonald’s App
The Rockies’ free double cheeseburger deal is only available on the McDonald’s mobile app.
Step 2: Share Your Location With the McDonald’s App
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to get this deal without sharing my phone’s location.
So you’ll have to share your phone’s location with the McDonald’s app if you want to get the free double cheeseburger deal.
Personally, I uninstall the app after I’ve received my food. That probably sounds dumb to a lot of people, but I don’t like the idea that McDonald’s might know my location at any time.
Step 3: Choose Your McDonald’s Location
When you’re adding the free double cheeseburger deal to your bag, there’s also an option to search for what locations are participating in this deal.
Simply select the location you want.
Step 4: Select the Free Double Cheeseburger Deal
The option for the free double cheeseburger deal is under the section “App Exclusive Deals”.
If you’re not seeing this deal under this section, that means the location is not participating in the deal.
Step 5: Order at Least $2 From the Menu
Part of the requirement of getting a free double cheeseburger is that you need to order at least $2 worth of food or drink.
The McDonald’s app will not let you complete your order without selecting a minimum of a $2 order.
How Long Have the Rockies Had the McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger Deal?
The McDonald’s double cheeseburger deal has been a Colorado Rockies promotion since the 2024 season.
Although McDonald’s did try a different deal for the 2023 season.
During the 2023 season, fans could get a free 10-piece Chicken McNugget the day after the Colorado Rockies won a game.
The bad news is that the Rockies were bad that year – they lost 103 games.
So, fans couldn’t take advantage of that 10-piece Chicken McNugget deal too often.
McDonald’s decided to change it up for the 2024 season and that’s when the free double cheeseburger deal was born.
Since the 2024 MLB season, whenever the Colorado Rockies hit a double in a game, fans get a free double cheeseburger the next day. And this deal is valid whether the Rockies win or lose.
During the 2024 season, fans only needed a minimum purchase of $1 to get a free double cheeseburger. That changed to a minimum purchase of $2 for the 2025 season.
Bummer the price went up, but it’s still a heck of a deal!
