Did anyone catch the end of the Rockies game Monday night?
I’m always rooting for the Rockies to win, but Colton Cowser made one of the best end-of-the-game catches I’ve ever seen.

On that final play of the game, the score was Orioles 2, Rockies 1. And Jake McCarthy crushed a ball to deep center field with a runner on second base and two outs.
After Jake McCarthy hit that ball, the game was ending in one of two ways:
- The Orioles win with a catch
- The Rockies win on a walk-off home run
And Colton Cowser robbed Jake McCarthy of a home run to win the game.
Pretty crazy ending to a game!
I still wish the Rockies would’ve won, though.
But anyway, let’s jump into the Rockies news from this past week.
Rockies Won 2 Games This Past Week
The Rockies won their last 2 games from this past week.
Which means the Rockies are undefeated in September! 😂
And they’re still dangerously close to having another 100-game losing season.
The Rockies are on pace to finish the season at 63-99.
There are still 22 games left to go this season, and the Rockies need 9 more wins to be under 100 losses.

Brett Sullivan Gets His First Career Walk-Off Hit
Brett Sullivan has posted a few highlights this season.
And he’s added to that list with his first career walk-off hit.
The game on Wednesday went into extra innings, and the Rockies were down 5-3 in the bottom of the 11th inning.
The Rockies rallied back, and Brett Sullivan hit a two-run single to left field to end the game.

Rockies Set Franchise Record for Most Consecutive Losses at Home
That game where Colton Cowser robbed Jake McCarthy of a walk-off home run was the Rockies’ 10th straight home loss.
And 10 losses is now the Rockies’ new all-time record for consecutive losses at home.
It was kind of difficult to find a list of the Rockies’ longest home losing streaks in franchise history, but here is what I was able to find:
- 10-game streak in 2026
- 9-game streak in 1993, at Mile High Stadium
- 8-game streak in 2018
Kyle Karros on Rehab Assignment
Kyle Karros has been recovering from a concussion after colliding with Ezequial Tovar on August 11th.
And now, he’s on a Rehab Assignment with the Rockies’ Double-A Team, the Hartford Yard Goats.
Kyle Karros played in his first rehab assignment game yesterday, where he went 1-2 with a walk and an RBI.
If he continues to progress, we should see him back in the Rockies lineup next week.
Kyle Freeland Throws a Bullpen Session
Kyle Freeland is on the 15-day injured list with cervical radiculopathy (a pinched nerve in his neck).
On Wednesday, he threw a 20-pitch bullpen session.
And he’s expected to have a longer bullpen session tomorrow.
If all goes well, Kyle Freeland could have a short rehab start before we see him back on the mound.
Ryan Feltner Comes in as a Relief Pitcher
Ryan Feltner was scratched from his start on Saturday due to a severe stomach illness.
He spent that day taking fluids and recovering.
Luckily, he was feeling better the following day. Because he was able to come in as a relief pitcher and close out the final five innings of the game.
Unfortunately, he got the loss for his first relief appearance of the year.
Ryan Feltner gave up an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning, but that extra-inning runner that starts at second base doesn’t count as an earned run.
So, Ryan Feltner ended the game with 6 strikeouts and no earned runs.
Cole Carrigg Flips Off Braves Fan
In the bottom of the 8th inning on Saturday, Cole Carrigg dove for a tough line drive that was hit to center field.
Unfortunately, the ball went off his glove, and two runs scored on the play.
Cole Carrigg must have heard something he didn’t like from the fans, because he flipped them off after that play.
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of good videos that show him flipping off fans, but here’s the best video I found on YouTube.
The Rockies responded by benching Cole Carrigg for a few days.
Or at least, that’s what they said.
While the Rockies didn’t start Cole Carrigg on Sunday or Monday, he did come into the game on both of those days.
And he’s been in the starting lineup since.
