Charlie Condon is Making Spring Training Noise

Another week of Spring Training is in the books, and so is another walk-off home run by Zac Veen.

In the first week of Spring Training, Zac Veen crushed this 468-foot home run to win the game against the White Sox.

And last Friday, Zac Veen did it again by crushing this 447-foot home run to win the game against the San Diego Padres.

So far, Zac Veen has two home runs in Spring Training – and both of them were walk-off home runs. Pretty crazy!

He’s still batting .286 in Spring Training, but he’s clearly been putting in work.

We’ll see what happens, but I’d like to see him get another shot at the big leagues!

And now, let’s jump into the rest of the Rockies’ news from this past week.

Rockies Won 1 Game This Past Week

Cactus league standings as of 3-5-26
Cactus League Standings

The Rockies were off to a hot start in the first week of Spring Training, but they only managed to pull out one win in this last week.

Their record is now 6-6, and that doesn’t include the game they lost to Team USA. That was an exhibition game so it didn’t go against their record (not that records really matter in Spring Training).

But who knows? Maybe we’ll see a couple more wins this week.

Charlie Condon is Off to a Hot Start

Charlie Condon is making a case to be on the Rockies’ 40-man roster for opening day.

In 10 games in Spring Training, he’s batting .467 with 3 home runs.

Nice start to Spring Training!

It also bothers me that if you look up Charlie Condon on MLB’s website, it only lists him as an outfielder.

During these 10 Spring Training games, he’s played 7 games at first base and only 3 games in the outfield.

The Rockies are pretty set on their outfield for the upcoming season, so chances are we would see Charlie Condon play more first base than outfield if he were to get called up.

But either way, it’s good to see him putting up some numbers!

Rockies Announce Spring Breakout Players

The Spring Breakout games are an annual four-day tradition where the top prospects from each MLB team play an exhibition game during Spring Training.

The goal is to introduce fans to the potential future stars of the MLB.

This year, the Spring Breakout games are played March 19-22. The Rockies Spring Breakout game is being played on March 21st at 5 pm MDT.

Some names that Rockies fans will recognize are Ethan Holliday, Charlie Condon, Gabriel Hughes, and Zac Veen.
