Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday season.
This will be the final newsletter of 2025.
That means I can now say that classic dad joke – see you next year!
But, baseball news is typically pretty quiet around this time of year. So we’ll keep this week’s newsletter short and sweet.
Rockies Are Bringing Back Three Coaches Next Season
The Rockies are bringing back coaches Andy González, Jordan Pacheco, and Ron Gideon for the 2026 season.
Andy González was the Third Base Coach last year and he’ll return as the third base coach for 2026.
Jordan Pacheco was the Assistant Hitting Coach last year and he’ll be returning as the Assistant Hitting Coach again in 2026.
Last year, Ron Gideon was the First Base and Outfield Coach. In this upcoming season, he’ll be the Rockies’ Assistant Bench Coach.
And that’s basically it for the news this week.
The news will start picking up as we inch closer to Spring Training, but for now, it seems like all the moves the Rockies have been making have centered around finding the right coaching staff.
Time will tell, but hopefully things are heading in the right direction!
Prospect Spotlight: Sean Sullivan (Rockies #12 Prospect)
Each week in the off-season, we’ll cover a top prospect from the Rockies, so you’ll know who to watch as they make their way to the big leagues.

Current Team: Hartford Yard Goats (AA Team)
Drafted: 2023
Age: 23
Position: Starting Pitcher
Bats: Right-handed
Throws: Left-handed
Estimated MLB Debut: 2026
Sean Sullivan made his minor league debut a few weeks after being drafted in 2023. Which means he’s really only played two full seasons in the minor leagues.
And despite the biggest criticism being his fastball barely breaks 90 mph, he’s done pretty well in the minors.
Throughout his minor league career, he’s pitched in 44 games. And in those 44 games, he’s 19-8 with an ERA of 2.46 and 239 strikeouts.
So far, he has yet to pitch in an AAA game. But based on how well he’s done, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him get called up to AAA pretty early next season.
And depending on how well AAA goes for him, there’s a chance we could even see him take the mound at Coors Field in 2026!
That wraps up this week’s short newsletter. Hope everyone has a great week!
-Steve
